There may be so much information you want to share with a potential employer, but if you want to make sure your CV is read and considered then you should not overload it with too much information, no matter how important it is.
The interview is a good time to get everything off your chest, and while CVs should contain important information, while they should also be quite straightforward and simple, and a strict template will ensure you don’t go too heavy with the content in your CV.
The fact is that if an employer is given a CV containing pages and pages of dense information, the likelihood is that they will not give it their full attention, and that can potentially damage an individual’s job chances. So remember:
- Keep it simple
- Keep it relevant
- And keep it up to date
